SPM LAB

SCANNING PROBE MICROSCOPY LABORATORY

The SPM laboratory is equipped with VEECO’s multimode NanoScope V system which includes capabilities for use of Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM), Magnetic Force Microscope, (MFM) and Scanning Capacitance Microscope (SCM). In addition to SPM work the laboratory is fully equipped with environmental chamber where SPM and other work could be conducted in controlled gas atmosphere, such as catalyst synthesis and work with ionic liquids and molten salts. The SPM lab has also two optical microscopes with high resolution CCD Cameras and fully integrated system for STM probe fabrication and testing. In addition to these capabilities the SPM lab has fully integrated system for Subtractivelly Normalized Interfacial Fourier Transform Infra Red Spectroscopy (Nicolet 6700 – with fast scan capability). This tool is used to study adsorption process at the electrochemical interface.
